While these variations of human sex between male and female are not necessarily linked to the psychological issue of gender identity, both display a spectrum of many different shades that is much more complex than the traditional...
متن کاملand Ben Polak Introduction to judgment aggregation
This introduces the symposium on judgment aggregation. The theory of judgment aggregation asks how several individualsjudgments on some logically connected propositions can be aggregated into consistent collective judgments. The aim of this introduction is to show how ideas from the familiar theory of preference aggregation can be extended to this more general case. We rst translate a proof o...
متن کاملTranslation Invariant Julia Sets
We show that if the Julia set J(f) of a rational function f is invariant under translation by one and infinity is a periodic or preperiodic point for f , then J(f) must either be a line or the Riemann sphere.

A new project JULIA is developing new technologies for next stages DUMAND like underwater experiments These experiments use large area lightsensors for the detection of faint Cerenkov light produced by neutrino induced myons During a cruise in Feburary a small testdetector was deployed in the Atlantic ocean near the Canary Islands The technical concept of this test experimet is discussed here T...
متن کاملComputability of Julia Sets
In this paper we settle most of the open questions on algorithmic computability of Julia sets. In particular, we present an algorithm for constructing quadratics whose Julia sets are uncomputable. We also show that a filled Julia set of a polynomial is always computable.
